I'm back from my summer break and, as promised, I’d like to talk about the upcoming changes for the continued development of The Diary.
Some of you might remember the roadmap from version v0.1.0, especially regarding the second update, v0.3.0.

I’ve read through your comments and spent some time thinking about how to make the best out of everything right now.
I understand that many of you might not be particularly interested in a standalone Android or Windows version, since it increases development time and adds complexity. But it’s something I’ve always wanted to try, and I’d still love to stick with it.

I actually started working on standalone versions for Windows and Android quite early in the development of The Diary, and even during my summer break (at least when the weather wasn’t great), I managed to bring their progress closer to the current web version.

To keep things simple, here’s a summary of the planned changes for v0.3.0:

• In addition to the existing web version, there will be Android and Windows versions
• The avatar system (paper doll) and character stats planned for the sidebar will be postponed to a later version
• No images are planned or created for this version, but I do intend to include some in the future. I’m already preparing adjustments to make it easier to add them later
• SFX and music were originally a key part of v0.3.0, but I’m no longer sure if they really benefit the story. So there will only be one test track each for SFX and BGM. You’ll be able to adjust the audio in the settings if needed

I’ll also continue writing the story a bit further. I’m aiming to push it just far enough to meet the requirements for an IGDB game entry. It won’t be a huge update, especially since there are still so many other “construction sites” active. But I hope that if people remain interested in the project, development will run much more smoothly in the future

As always, more detailed info will be included in the changelogs once v0.3.0 is released. It’ll still take a little time until then. Maybe I’ll be able to work on it a bit during the week after work, not just on weekends—but I can’t promise that right now.
